Discovery Samal hosts benefit gala for indigenous weaving communities

Discovery Samal served because the elegant venue for The Stellar Vogue Gala, a charity occasion benefiting indigenous weaving communities below the patronage of the b.LOOM Mission.

Held in partnership between the Davao Vogue and Design Council Basis Inc (DFDCI) and the Mindanao Commerce Expo Basis Inc (MTEFI) on the lodge’s Samal Grand Ballroom, the occasion featured a 100-piece assortment crafted by member-designers Aztec Barba, Dodjie Batu, Emi Englis, Popoy Barba, Edgar Buyan, Egay Ayag, Windel Mira, and Benjie Panizales.

Discovery Samal president Beatrice Gonzalez-Magallanes stated of the occasion: “We’re in awe of the creativity and proudly Davaeño aesthetic displayed by the b.LOOM Mission at The Stellar Vogue Gala; [and we] look ahead to welcoming extra improbable occasions with a priceless view of the Davao Gulf at Discovery Samal.”

Indigenous materials within the twenty first century
